FTA Europe Diamond Awards 2018 – A Great Success for FTA Europe & the European Flexo Community!

FTA Europe visits the Kodak Flexo Hub in Brussels
On 8th of February, FTA Europe Board Members visited the Kodak Flexo Hub in Brussels. The Flexo Hub was recently opened, underlining a strong engagement from Kodak in flexographic technologies. Mr. Grant Blewett, Kodak Global Sales Director Flexographic Packaging Division, presented the structure of the Centre and the reasons for opening such a flexo facility in Brussels.
Flexo Best Practice Tool Box – Kodak New Supporter & Work In Progress!
With the 2018 just started, FTA Europe is pleased to announce that Kodak has committed to become a supporter of the Flexo Best Practice Tool Box! Kodak has recently opened its Flexo Hub in Brussels, enlarging also the opportunity to strengthen the cooperation with FTA Europe. Kodak joins the other companies that have previously committed to support the Project: Uteco, Asahi Photoproducts, Lohmann, I&C-Gama, Esko, Rossini, Praxair, RKPrint, ColorConsulting, and AV Flexologic-Tech Sleeves.
FTA Europe Session at the ATIF Flexo Day in Italy
On the 15th of November, the FTA Europe Session was held in Bologna during the 2017 Italian ATIF Flexo Day. For the first time during one of the FTA Europe members’ congresses, an entire panel was dedicated to foreign speakers, who gave a fruitful contribution to the conference by sharing their experience about flexo.

On the 19th and 20th of October FTA Europe attended the Annual Forum of the Australian and New Zealand Flexible Packaging & Label Manufacturers Association (FPLMA) held at the Exhibition Centre of Melbourne. FTA Europe President Sante Conselvan participated in the round-table discussion focused on education and skills.

After a successful 1st edition in Dusseldorf in June 2016, with over 230 participants and 30 flexo companies awarded for their works, FTA Europe will continue to celebrate the best of flexo printing.
FTA Europe speaker at the Intercontinental Conference on Flexography in Sau Paulo – Brazil
On Thursday 14th of September FTA Europe gave the opening speech at the Intercontinental Conference on Flexography, organised by ABFlexo (the Brazilian Flexographic Technical Association) in Sau Paulo. The Intercontinental Conference is a bi-annual event where Brazilian and other Latin American flexo companies have the occasion to showcase and discuss about flexography with experts and companies’ representatives. FTA Europe, as an institutional partner of ABFlexo, was invited to share the European flexo experience.

FTA Europe General Assembly 2017 – Sante Conselvan re-elected President of the Association
On Thursday 29th of June, the 2017 General Assembly of FTA Europe was held in Barcelona at the offices of FTA Europe’s Spanish Member – Graphispack / ATEF. Sante Conselvan, current President of the Italian flexo association (ATIF), was re-elected as President of FTA Europe for another mandate of two years.
Creation of the FTA Europe “Flexo Best Practice Tool Box” – First Technical Meeting, 15 May 2017 in Milan
On 15th of May 2017, the first Flexo Best Practice Tool Box Technical Meeting took place in Milan at the ATIF offices. The technical meeting started the coordination of the works, aiming to prepare and finalise the project over the course of the next months. Representatives of supporting companies, experts from the icm.Print team, and the FTA Europe Technical Committee participated in the meeting.
FTA Europe meets FTA US in Phoenix
On Tuesday 2nd May, on the occasion of the FTA US Annual Forum 2017, an official meeting between representatives of FTA US and a delegation from FTA Europe took place, led by FTA Europe and ATIF President Sante Conselvan. This meeting in Phoenix, Arizona strengthened the already existing collaboration between the two associations in the field of flexography that has been recently showed also for the direct contribution of FTA US for the European project Flexo Best Practice Tool Box.
One Flexo Per Tutti
On Wednesday 23 November, the day after the ceremony of the second BestInFlexo Italian Awards, in which about 200 printers and suppliers took part, FlexoDay 2016 was staged in Bologna. This is a yearly appointment for the flexographic printing community which, with its over 400 participants, exceeded all expectations and achieved better record figures than last year.
On 22 November 2016, the 2nd edition of the ATIF BestInFlexo 2016 took place in Bologna. The event awards the best printing flexo quality of products. Over 200 participants, among those representatives of printers and suppliers, attended the ceremony.
The Flexo Best Practice Toolbox kick off meeting in Milan: A successful event
More than 35 participants attended the kick off workshop of the Flexo Best Practive Took Box project in Milan in September 2016, promoted by Icmprint and FTA Europe.
The Flexo Best Practice Toolbox
A unique new collaborative project that brings together international cross-industry expertise to provide a relevant and practical best practice reference for printers and suppliers to improve flexo performance. The project kick-off meeting will be in Milan on September 13/14, 2016.
FTA Europe – a European umbrella for the promotion of flexo
ITALY • The newly formed FTA Europe used Converflex 2015 in Milan to showcase its plan for coordinating the efforts of national organisations into a cohesive working partnership. The association was established by five founding member associations: EFIA (UK), Atif (Italy), ATEF (Spain), EFTA (Benelux), and ATF (France). Membership of FTA Europe is open to all national flexo associations, and will be governed by a board, supported by Intergraf and Lejeune Association Management, which will create specialised working groups and negotiate European funding.

FTA Europe formally established as European umbrella for Flexo
Brussels, February 2015. The flexo technical associations of the France, Italy, the UK, Spain and the Benelux countries have formally established FTA-Europe as their common European umbrella organisation. On 5 February, the inaugural General Assembly of the new organisation took place in Brussels at the offices of Intergraf, the European printing industry federation, where FTA Europe will have its registered address.
